Utilities and Infrastructure

Reliable utilities and infrastructure are important in maintaining efficient business operations. Hutto utilities are reliable and affordable, and the City continuously works to enhance Hutto’s infrastructure to withstand rapid growth.

Electric

Electric service in Hutton is maintained by Oncor Electric, the largest energy delivery company in Texas. Oncor invests billions in state-of-the-art infrastructure and advanced technologies to create a safer, smarter, more reliable power grid.

Due to Texas’s deregulated energy market, Hutto companies and residents have their choice of a number of electric providers, including renewable energy sources.

Water and Wastewater

Water in the City of Hutto is sourced from the Heart of Texas well field, a groundwater source owned by the City. Additional sources are purchased from Manville Water Supply Corporation (groundwater) and the City of Taylor (surface water.)

The City of Hutto owns and operates 10 lift stations that pump wastewater to one of two City-owned treatment plants, which are operated by the Brazos River Authority.

Internet and Telephone

High-speed internet is readily available in Hutto, with speeds up to 1 GBPS. Connections include fiber, cable, DSL, and satellite.

Telephone services include internet phone services, traditional landline service, and VoIP.

Infrastructure

In order to sustain continued growth, Hutto addresses a number of infrastructure needs in the community, including Water and Wastewater, Transportation and Drainage, Parks and Recreation, and Municipal Facilities.
