Academy Sports + Outdoors is geared up for grand opening fun! Friday, Nov. 17 will be the public’s first chance to shop the nationwide sporting goods retailer’s brand new Hutto location, and Academy has a full weekend of festivities planned through Sunday, Nov. 19.
A full rundown of all the fun is as follows:
Friday, Nov. 17
8:40 am: Ribbon cutting ceremony
9 am: Free mystery gift cards for the first 150 customers in line at opening (18 years and older) — over $15,000 in total weekend prizes!
10 am to 3 pm: Free Texas State Parks Gift Card distribution with Fishing's Future (available while supplies last)
Throughout the day: Free gift with Academy Credit Card application; In-store Treasure Hunt with a free gift; Free laser engraving with the purchase of a Magellan Outdoors tumbler until 5 pm

Located at 250 Alliance Boulevard, just off US Highway 79 and State Highway 130, the 50,000-sq.ft. Hutto facility will be Academy’s first-ever “green build,” featuring roof-mounted solar panels that will supplement energy supply for the store during daylight hours.
Academy will be the latest anchor at NewQuest Properties’ Townwest Commons, which currently features Lowe’s Home Improvement, Walgreens, and the Hutto YMCA, among other businesses. Earlier this year, EVO Entertainment Group announced it will build a state-of-the-art movie theater, bowling, and gaming complex within Townwest Commons, to include both IMAX and EVX theater experiences.
Beginning Friday, Nov. 17, Academy Sports + Outdoors is open from 9 am until 10 pm on Fridays, 8 am until 10 pm on Saturdays, and 9 am until 9 pm on Sundays through Thursdays.
