Project Funding and Assistance
The Hutto EDC strategically allocates a dedicated portion of local sales tax revenue to fuel investment in community facilities, amenities, and select business ventures. This funding empowers projects that create or retain high-value jobs and contribute to the development of parks, events, museums, tourist attractions, and sports facilities. Below are examples of key job-creating projects we support:
Manufacturing and industrial facilities
Workforce development and primary job training
Public transportation infrastructure
Essential infrastructure improvements
Research and development initiatives
Hutto EDC Funding Stability
The Hutto EDC relies on two types of sales tax—Type A and Type B—to enhance our community. Type A funds are primarily directed toward creating primary jobs through industrial and manufacturing projects, while Type B funds are more flexible, supporting job creation as well as community amenities like parks, sports facilities, and tourism. Together, they help us grow the local economy and improve the quality of life in Hutto.
Hutto EDC Board of Directors
The Hutto EDC Board of Directors is comprised of seven members who are appointed by the Hutto City Council and serve 2-year terms. The Hutto EDC Board of Directors meets monthly at Hutto City Hall and meetings are open to the public. Agendas are available prior to the meetings and minutes are available following approval.
